"What started as a winery became a gathering place — for birthdays and anniversaries, for first dates and last toasts, for Tuesday-night regulars who became some of our closest friends." Kristin Chayer of Silver Vines Winery said that to the Arvada Press after the winery said it would close at the end of 2026.
Down the block on Grandview Avenue, Bluegrass Coffee and Bourbon Lounge serves its last night in Olde Town this Saturday, October 31. Together, the two closings mean Olde Town ends 2026 with a different set of places to spend an evening than it had in the summer. Neither Grandview address has an announced replacement, and the businesses that are arriving are a bookstore-cafe and a florist.
These are the changes already on the record, in order of their dates:
| Business | Olde Town address | Time on the block | Status as of October 29 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 303 Ramen | 5725 Yukon St. | Since 2017 | Closed after a March 3 fire; reopened Sept. 11 at 8025 Sheridan Blvd. |
| TeeLee Floral and Events | 5613 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. | New retail location | Moved in by August |
| Bluegrass Coffee and Bourbon Lounge | 7415 Grandview Ave. | 11 years | Olde Town closes Oct. 31; Candelas closes Nov. 1 |
| Silver Vines Winery | 7509 Grandview Ave. | 15 years, opened December 2011 | Open through December; final event Dec. 6 |
| My Book Cellar | 5715 Upham St. | Not yet open | "Coming Winter 2026" |
The two places closing account for 26 combined years on Grandview, and both built their business around evenings. Bluegrass ran as a coffee house by day, roasting its own beans, and became a bourbon lounge and Southern-inspired diner at night, with live music and a whiskey list. WhatNow's report on the closure lists its recurring events: a Crawfish Boil, a Pig Roast, Whiskey Wednesdays, and S'mores and Whiskey Nights. Kristin Chayer's own words put Silver Vines in the same category, as the room for birthdays, anniversaries and a standing weeknight glass.
Olde Town's Trick or Treat Street runs tomorrow, Friday, October 30, from 5 to 7 p.m., with trick-or-treating at dozens of Olde Town businesses and a costume contest. Two features are new this year. Trunk-or-treating will use classic and unique vehicles, and a free haunted house at the Jaycess House on Yukon Street will stay open longer than the main event, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Bluegrass closes its Grandview location the next day. If your Halloween usually involves a stop there, Friday's event is the last chance to fit it in. For anyone who prefers the Candelas location on W. 92nd Lane, it stays open one more day, through November 1.
The owners didn't give a specific reason for the closures, writing only that life and business had taken them in new directions, increasingly out of state. In the post quoted by WhatNow, they also wrote, "The Bluegrass became so much more than a restaurant. Our employees became family, and our regulars became friends."
The haunted house sits on the same street as Olde Town's most visible empty storefront. 303 Ramen operated at 5725 Yukon St. from 2017 until a fire on March 3 damaged the building. According to the Arvada Press, firefighters found asbestos in the damaged attic while remediating the blaze, and the property owner, who had leased the space to the restaurant, put the building up for sale. In the paper's story, last updated September 14, 2026, the building was still listed.
The restaurant reopened on September 11, six months after the fire, at 8025 Sheridan Blvd. in northeast Arvada. The new location is less than five miles from Yukon Street and open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Owner Natenapa Bunkrong told the Arvada Press that many longtime favorites stay on the menu, including the panang curry ramen, shio ramen, duck cheese wontons and Thai iced tea, with a focus mostly on ramen and Japanese food.
Yukon Street is a useful guide to what comes next on Grandview. When a long-running Olde Town tenant leaves, its customers can follow it somewhere else, but the building itself can take months to find a new use. Six months after the fire, the Yukon building still had no announced successor. As of late October, neither 7415 nor 7509 Grandview has an announced next tenant.
Two businesses are adding to the district's streetscape this fall.
My Book Cellar plans to open as a bookstore, cafe and community space at 5715 Upham St. In a story the Arvada Press last updated September 14, the owners said renovations were underway and they were waiting on the city's response to a permit resubmittal. At that point, they hoped to open before the holidays. The store's own website now says "Coming Winter 2026" and gives no specific date.
TeeLee Floral and Events has moved to 5613 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. The Arvada Press reports that the new retail space sells bouquets and home goods and offers classes.
Both add something to Olde Town. Neither is a bourbon lounge or a winery tasting room, though, so by the end of 2026 the district's lineup leans more toward browsing and classes than toward a bar stool on Grandview.
The fireworks are the one date where getting there takes some planning. CDOT's I-70 bridge repairs at Kipling and Garrison are scheduled to last through mid-November. Expect single or double lane closures on I-70, alternating closures on Kipling and possible ramp closures. November 6 falls inside that window, so if your route to Stenger uses I-70 or Kipling, leave earlier than you would on a normal Friday.
Silver Vines' anniversary party is the last fixed date on the list. Its Boulder tasting room has already been scheduled to close in late summer or early fall, so the Grandview location is the only Silver Vines room left in its final month.
When a business leaves Olde Town after a decade or more, the building and the block around it start to change, and the people who own homes nearby notice.
